The online markets of IHB and Fordaq are now interconnected
30/03/2006 - 10:42

The online markets of IHB (www.ihb.de) and Fordaq (www.fordaq.com) are now interconnected allowing access to the largest online market for the wood industry worldwide

Fordaq S.A. announces today that the websites www.ihb.de and www.fordaq.com now share the same IT platform. Users of the IHB or Fordaq websites will now be able to access directly the combined content of both websites. Offers and requests inserted in one of these two sites will be visible in both websites.

More than 24,000 companies in the wood industry are members of the new IHB-Fordaq platform which is visited by more than 500,000 persons monthly. The users of IHB & Fordaq can now consult more than 2,000 new offers and requests each month, check the directory of 24,000 members and read daily news from the wood industry prepared by journalists across Europe.

The two websites will continue to exist. The IHB brand will continue to be used by Fordaq S.A. in the German-speaking region of Europe.

"The goal of the acquisition of IHB by Fordaq was to create a common online trading platform that could be used by all parties in the wood industry and trade to do business across Europe and the world. This goal is now achieved in Europe. We have a lot of exciting projects this year to extend our reach in other regions of the world and launch new services," according to Benoit Nieuwenhuys, Managing Director of Fordaq.
