Germany: Pine log price index continues to develop by leaps and bounds

Alternativtext The German producer price indices for pine again completed one or the other U-turn in June 2021. On average, however, the wood species continued to increase compared to May - namely by 1.2% to a level of 77.2 points. B grades caught up and increased by 1% to 79.1 points. 3/4 m lengths increased by 1.7% to a level of 78.9 points.

With an average minus of 2.2% to a level of 66.9 points, however, C-logs gave way again, with 3 m lengths still climbing slightly by 0.3% to 76.8 points. B / C ranges decreased by 5% to 68.1 points.

Alternativtext Pine pulpwood gained 1.5% to 67.9 points in June, slightly less than the softwood average, which increased by 2.1% to 57.3 points. Industrial spruce increased by 3.2% to a value of 51.5 points and Douglas fir rose slightly by 0.7% to 54.1 points.

The pine index rose by 6.8% year-on-year. B-grades yielded by 7.1%, in 3/4 m lengths by 10%. C logs recorded an increase of 11.1%, with 3 m lengths increasing by 21.1%. And the index for pine pulpwood gained 8.8% compared to the value of the same month last year.
