Description |
Cumaru it's a rare species from Amazônia, this wood is used to make furnitures, houses and decorations. Height of 20-30 m, with a globular crown. Erect, cylindrical trunk, 50-70 cm in diameter. With thin, rough and scaly bark in irregular plates. Leaves alternate, winged-petiolate, imparipinnate compound. Alternate leaflets, 7-9 in number, short-pecioled, leathery, glabrous on both sides and shiny on the upper side, 10-20 cm long and 4-8 cm wide. Inflorescences in ferruginous-pubescent terminal panicles, with fragrant flowers. Fruit legume (pod) ovate, fibrous and spongy drupaceous, pubescent surface, containing a single ***** heavy (density 1.09g/cm³), hard to cut, with a fine to medium texture, interlocked grain, high mechanical resistance and very resistant to attack by termites and rotting fungi.
The colors of this wood range from brownish white, light pink and light shades of brown. All woods are grade A with very few knots. We can supply 2 diferent sizes, short (2 - 6' x 145 mm x 21 mm) or large 7'+ (same width and thickness). Other sizes can be commercialized just under directly negotiations |
